The University of Warwick

The Warwick University Satellite Team (WUSAT) is now in its eighth year of operation as a satellite engineering team. Our engineering teams who have worked on these projects over the past eight years have been a multidisciplinary mix of 4th Year MEng students, typically, Electronics, Mechanical, Systems and Manufacturing engineers.

Warwick’s WUSAT2 satellite has required the application of extensive thermal modelling throughout its design. The satellite is designed to operate during atmospheric re-entry where temperatures could vary between extremes of -100oC to +200oC. The expert training provided by ESATAN and the use of their ESATAN-TMS software has been invaluable to WUSAT engineers in enabling them to successfully complete their modelling designs to the level required by the launch programme evaluation experts.
